【摘要】:Coarseparticlesinprintinginksreducetheefficiencyofthedispersionprocess,requiringnotonlyextramillingpasses,butalsofrequentchangesinpumpfilters.Inprintingprocesses,theymaycauseexcessiveweartometalplates,pilingorlocalizedretentionofinkonblanketsandplates,andwaterbalanceproblems.Coarseparticlesalsoreducecolorstrengthandtheglossofprintedmatter.Thistestmethodissuitableforqualitycontrol.Theprecisionmaybeimprovedbytheuseofaspecimensizelargerthanthatprescribed.Testresultsaresensitivetothetypeofwashoutsolventused.Strongsolventsaretobeavoidedbecausetheymaydissolvelargeparticlesofresinintheinkvehicle.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheweightconcentrationofcoarseparticlesinprintinginkdispersionsbysieveretention.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletoprintinginks,flushedpigments,andotherpigmentdispersionsthatcontainparticleslargerthan45m.Withproperchoiceofsolvent,itisapplicablebothtopasteandliquidinks.Note18212;ThistestmethodissimilarinprincipletoTestMethodsD185.Forparticlesunder25m,seeTestMethodD1316.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
